About Great Clips
Great Clips, Inc. was established in 1982 in Minneapolis. Today, Great Clips has 4,200 salons throughout the United States and Canada, making it the world’s largest salon brand. Great Clips is 100 percent franchised, and salons are owned locally by more than 1,200 franchisees across North America. As a walk-in salon, Great Clips provides value-priced, high-quality haircare for men, women and children.
The Challenge: Great Clips had a longstanding support for Veterans, but defined program to showcase its support for the Veterans within the Great Clips network. Lola Red was challenged to create a campaign for Veteran’s Day to communicate that support.
The Solution
A multi-faceted storytelling campaign featuring the personal stories of nominated Veterans within the Great Clips network.
A cross-country story expedition
We engaged a video team to travel across the United States over 4 months to capture the captivating Veteran stories that make up some of Great Clips’ network of customers, franchisees, salon owners and stylists.
Storytelling through the press
We leveraged our national and regional relationships with the media to tell the personal stories of our featured Veterans and helped to showcase their service to our country.
Veteran videos
We worked closely with Great Clips’ social media team to amplify our video content across the company's social media channels, spurring an increase in overall engagement with the brand.
The Results
Lola Red captivated the Great Clips networks and drove engagement with the brand surrounding Veteran's Day (United Stated) and Remembrance Day (Canada).
